This is the most representative festival in Aomori City in summer. It is well-known among festivals across Japan and attracts many tourists. 
The protagonist of the festival is a large human-shaped lantern called "Sleeping Demon", which is 9 meters wide, 7 meters deep and 5 meters high. These human-shaped lanterns are mostly works of art based on military commanders, historical stories or Kabuki performances during the Warring States Period. They are colorful and shocking. 
The "Sleeping Demon" and the exciting accompaniment band (Sleeping Demon Hayashi) and festival dancers "Jiaoren" will march together along the parade route in Aomori City.

Before the sleep demon sacrifice, I watched it once last year and felt that this country made ancient Chinese culture really spectacular. The room is very difficult to set at this time, and the feeling of grabbing a room half a year and half a night in advance is also thrilling. It took a lot of effort. Japan is said to have registered this as an important intangible cultural property in Japan in 1980. The event consists of drawing characters from the Warring States such as the Three Kingdoms, about 80 fan-shaped sleeping demon lantern parades, large and small, and an accompaniment orchestra composed of the piccolo and Taidrum, composed of the citizens-centered associations or civic groups, and a peer into the streets of Sapporo.

This year, the Japanese cherry blossoms opened early, so I found a day to go to the city of Sapporo for the Easter holiday to see the cherry blossoms 🌸 just the cherry blossoms are almost full, the scenery is beautiful, I recommend everyone to see the cherry blossoms next time 😊
