In its 165 year history, inevitably, the Hallé has weathered many a storm & undergone essential change to survive. From the untimely deaths of Principal Conductors through world wars, economic crises & a pandemic. Our latest archive talk will draw out the human stories that underpin the Hallé’s resilience & have helped to make it the much-loved institution it is today. There will be a particular focus on: 1895 – the sudden death of Sir Charles Hallé and the resulting creation of the Hallé Concerts Society; 1914, the outbreak of war and the impact on an organisation with German origins; the arrival of John Barbirolli in 1943. Coming to more recent times we look at the crisis of 1998 and the Covid pandemic – when the Hallé cancelled concerts for the first time in its history. Further information Our event will take place in the Barbirolli Room of The Bridgewater Hall. Complimentary refreshments will be available. Our talk will begin at 5:00pm with access to the Barbirolli Room from 4:30pm. The talk will last roughly 30 minutes and there will be a chance for questions at the end. These talks are free, thanks to the support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Thank you to all players of the national lottery. Please note that you do not need to have purchased a ticket to the concert to attend this free archive talk. Booking a place to the free archive talk does not get you access to the concert. As a supporter, visiting Etihad Stadium was a fantastic experience. The stadium itself is immaculate and well-maintained, providing a great environment for watching the match. The food options were plentiful, offering a variety of choices that added to the overall enjoyment. It would have been perfect if we could eat and drink while watching the game, but even so, the experience was memorable and enjoyable. Highly recommend for any football fan!

Went to Happy seasons restaurant and TSUJIRI in Manchester Chinatown with my mates after exams. Authentic Chinese cuisine with reasonable prices. The matcha sundae was also delicious. There are also many nice Asian restaurants around the area.

Visited the cathedral with my partner for an ibiza classical evening. We both thoroughly enjoyed it! The lighting and sound system were amazing.The only faults I had with the place was that the toilets had no lighting around them ,but there were plenty of them though, so I wasn&#39;t queuing for long.
