Guided tours at the Walters Art Museum are 75 minutes long and are scheduled on Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., as well as on Fridays at 10:00 a.m. Please note that tours require a minimum of ten students and a maximum of 80. It is mandatory to have one chaperone per group of ten students.

The museum offers several engaging tour themes for PreK-12 students to choose from. For instance, the "Ancient Cultures" tour allows students to explore artifacts from around the world, including Egypt, Greece, Rome, and the Near East. Students will delve into the art, mythologies, culture, and daily life of ancient civilizations. Another option is the "Telling Stories in Art" tour, which encourages students to decode and interpret the narratives expressed in artworks. They will learn to analyze narrative elements such as setting, character, and plot. Additionally, younger students can enjoy the "Animals in Art" tour, where they will discover how artists throughout history have depicted animals and their habitats in paintings and sculptures.

The best part is that these tours are completely free of charge. However, a voluntary contribution of $7 per student is highly appreciated, as it helps sustain educational programs for communities. Moreover, Title I schools in Maryland can benefit from bus stipends provided by the Walters Art Museum.
