Grounded invites visitors to see land not just as terrain, but as a foundation for exploring ecology, sovereignty, memory, and home. Featuring 35 artists based in the Americas and the Pacific, the exhibition showcases 40 works, spanning the 1970s to today, with many on view for the first time. Works include Lisa Reihana’s monumental video installation In Pursuit of Venus [infected] that reimagines colonial narratives from her perspective as a Māori artist; photographs and video by Clarissa Tossin, Laura Aguilar, and Ana Mendieta that trace the artists’ bodies in dialogue with the earth; paintings and sculptures by Rose B. Simpson and Eamon Ore Girón that blend technology with Indigenous iconography and craft; and works by Leslie Martinez and Abraham Cruzvillegas that upcycle everyday materials to document consumption and to suggest possibilities for renewal.

Disneyland felt like stepping into a meticulously crafted dream. The castle shimmered in the sunlight, and the children around me screamed with excitement during the parade&mdash;that pure joy was infectious. What I remember most vividly is sitting by the roadside in the evening, watching the lights gradually come on, the air filled with the sweet scent of popcorn. Although the queues were tiring and the things were expensive, when you saw the fireworks bursting above the castle, you felt that all the day&#39;s effort was worthwhile. It may not be perfect, but it truly allows you to temporarily forget the outside world.

The hotel was excellent; the rooms were spacious and clean. The shuttle to Disneyland was very convenient. I had booked five nights through another platform. Originally, I planned to switch hotels after Disneyland and then Universal Studios, but the experience was quite good, and since Universal Studios isn&#39;t far, I booked four more nights through Ctrip.

There are many hotels near the resort, and the shuttle to the park is shared. This hotel&#39;s advantage in terms of park shuttles is that it&#39;s near the front of the pick-up line, ensuring a seat. This is very convenient, as the pick-up point is right outside the hotel.

The hotel breakfast, while basic and with limited variety, was served in a large, clean, and buffet-style restaurant with disposable plates and utensils. Very convenient.

The rooms don&#39;t offer bottled water, but there&#39;s a small area downstairs where you can buy food and drinks. Prices are similar to those in the park; you can pay by credit card or have it added to your room bill.

The laundry room is next to the gym on the first floor. Credit cards are accepted. Laundry is $3.50 each, and drying is $3.50. There are vending machines nearby for laundry balls and detergent. If you&#39;re planning a trip here, I recommend bringing your own laundry pods, as they&#39;re more economical 😂. A small box of laundry detergent, enough for one wash, costs about $2. Just for reference.

The hotel is not far from two nearby outlet malls via Uber, and there&#39;s also a Walmart nearby. I haven&#39;t tried walking, but although the distance seems short, it&#39;s right next to a main road, so you&#39;d probably have to take a detour.

Griffith Observatory was the most tranquil stop I visited in Los Angeles. Climbing the hillside at dusk, the city stretched out below like a warm, yellow sea of ​​lights, bustling yet serene. The observatory itself resembled a vintage white castle, its dome softening in the twilight. I didn&#39;t go inside to see the planetarium exhibit; I simply leaned against the railing, lost in thought. The wind was strong, but the vast panorama stretching from the city lights to the distant Hollywood sign instantly transported me away from daily anxieties. I remember that night vividly&mdash;not because it was spectacular, but because it gave me a long-lost, expansive peace.

The American Museum of Natural History in Los Angeles County felt like stepping into a giant, story-telling warehouse. The moment I entered, I was awestruck by the rows of terrifying dinosaur skeletons&mdash;looking up, I could practically imagine them moving. My favorite part was the second-floor glass cases crammed with minerals and gems; under the lights, each stone seemed to hold a miniature universe. When I reached the African animal exhibit, a sudden silence fell, and the still specimens in the dim light possessed a strange, solemn quality. After a long walk, I sat on a bench in the atrium, looking through the glass roof at the bright California sunshine. At that moment, I felt that this place possessed both the vastness of the world and the quiet weight of time&mdash;a perfect place to quietly relax and daydream.
