Are you ready for some great Jiu Jitsu? because we are! Girls in Gis is a community of women and girls in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu that come together through donation based training events. They are hosted, instructed, and attended only by women and girls. It's our time to come together! All ages and skill levels from any academy affiliation are welcome to attend. No experience required. Our events are designed for 100% participation, but do allow chaperones to accompany underage participants as spectators. Our events are donation based in order to provide equal opportunity to everyone. Your donations provide paid teaching opportunities for our guest instructor(s) and help to expand and make Girls in Gis programs such as our events, our leadership program and instructional training programs and our scholarships possible. If you are not able to make a donation please contact us and we will work with you so that you are able to participate. You can also purchase a GIG t-shirt, patches and more GIG merchandise with your donation. All orders can be picked up during the event. GIGOregon - PortlandGuest instructors: Hillary VanOrnum & Anna Rangel Hillary VanOrnum is the owner and head coach at Unicorn Jiu Jitsu in Portland, Oregon. She is a third degree black belt under Giva Santana and James Foster. She has been instructing Girls in Gis events since 2016 and was an active competitor from blue belt through black belt, only taking a break from competing due to multiple surgeries. She competed in the adult black belt division into her 40’s and has been on the podium of many major IBJJF tournaments, including several gold medals at Pan Ams. On top of all that she has an amateur MMA record 3-0 and a brown belt in Judo. Anna Rangel is an owner and instructor at Impact Jiu Jitsu Hillsboro and Impact Jiu Jitsu Sherwood. With years of experience on the mats and in the cage, Anna brings a dynamic and well-rounded perspective to her teaching. She began her martial arts journey in MMA, where she holds an undefeated record of 6-0, with a 2-0 record in Kickboxing. Anna has consistently competed at every level since white belt, and recently marked a major milestone by earning gold in her black belt debut. She brings a wealth of experience, a strong competitive spirit, and a deep commitment to helping women grow through jiu jitsu.  COST: $20 Min Donation. All Donations Welcome. ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST REGISTER ONLINE. ONLINE REGISTRATION WILL BE CLOSED 6/22/25 at 12:00 PM OR ONCE WE REACH CAPACITY. WALK-INS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED ONCE CAPACITY IS REACHED.
