Participate in the Gentle Giants 5k & One Mile event, held in Irvine Lake area on June 23, 2024. This event aims to raise funds for Gentle Giants, a local dog rescue organization dedicated to saving large breed dogs from euthanasia. You can choose to run or walk either the 5k or One Mile route, either in person or virtually. Gentle Giants Training Refuge, a 501c3 organization, ensures that all donations are tax deductible. A suggested entry fee of $20 per runner will support the cause. The event kicks off at 7:30 am for the 5k and at 8:00 am for the One Mile run. Participants can park along Beechwood and the school soccer fields. Virtual runners are encouraged to share their progress on Strava and/or Instagram by tagging the event. Join hands to help save the lives of large breed dogs in need.

I spent an afternoon here with my sister and our six children picking strawberries and it was really fun. Staff will take you around the farm and introduce you to a variety of foods, such as green beans, carrots, sweet corn and cucumbers, and finally we can bring home the strawberries we picked. Tips: eat as many strawberries as possible! Really fresh and delicious. The children also like the sunflowers and chickens here. They also picked a lot of melons and pumpkins, which was fun. We will come back next time we have a chance.
