Singer-songwriter Matt Gower, folk duo Catbird (aka Greg Beaudoin & Tracy Shaw) and alt-folk artist Becks take the stage at the Art House Cafe May 23rd for Friday Night Folk.
Bios
Matt Gower has been involved in the Ottawa music community for over two decades. His songwriting incorporates folk, alt-country and old-time music weaved between timeless lyrics and dynamic vocals. Over the years Matt has performed with garage-folk band Capital Grass and the No Men and folk duo Fathom the Sea around the National Capital Region and Western Quebec. Throughout Matt’s musical journeys, a constant thread has held true: nothing carries more weight than connecting with an audience through the power of song.

The artist has played Bluesfest & Jazzfest with band Capital Grass and the No Men. Headliner at Irene’s & Blacksheep. Opened up for Rural Alberta Advantage and The Dead South.

IMPORTANT ACCESSIBILITY INFO
We provide gender-neutral washrooms. We have one wheelchair accessible washroom. There is no wheelchair ramp. There is a set of 8 stairs to get into the building (7 steps, small landing, and then an 8th step). Once inside, the whole cafe floor is flat, with the exception of our small room to the side, which is a small step down.
We are licensed to provide alcohol, but serve a variety of non-alcoholic options.
This event takes place on the traditional unceded, unsurrendered territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin People.

Parliament Hill is the office of the Canadian government and is usually closed to the public. Now there is a light show every night at 5:30, which projects pictures with constantly changing colors and music. The whole show is about 10 minutes long and is played in a loop all night.

The Governor General of Canada is the highest leader of the country and the representative of the British monarch in Canada. The Governor General&#39;s Palace is free to visit, but reservations are required in advance. There are staff to guide you through the tour and give explanations, which takes about an hour. There is a bronze statue of Queen Elizabeth II riding a horse on the roundabout outside the gate.

The Byward neighborhood is centered on the Byward market, surrounded by restaurants, cafes and shopping malls, and a Quanjude. The booths in the Byward market are not large, with catering, clothing, crafts and tourist souvenirs. On one side is the Obama net red bakery, on the other side is the cafe and chocolate chain.
