EXPROSÉ: Poet Showcase & Writing Workshop is a series of non-profit poetry workshops held at Studio.89 in Mississauga. This event provides a platform for one featured artist's work, as well as a space for other poets and writers to create and perform in response. The goal of Exprosé is to bring poets and writers together, allowing them to witness the artistic process of featured guests as they reveal the deeper layers of their work.

The name "Exprosé" is a combination of "exposé" and "prose", reflecting the intention to uncover the meaning behind the artists' metaphors and similes. Attendees will have the opportunity to write their own draft pieces inspired by what they hear during the showcase. During a dedicated writing section, participants will have 10 minutes to write as many pieces as they like. At the end of this period, the host will read one of their own pieces and encourage others to share their work at the microphone.

The series will feature four talented poets: Joshua "Scribe" Watkis on January 20, 2024, Desiree McKenzie on February 10, 2024, Andrea Josic on March 16, 2024, and Shelly G. Campbell on April 13, 2024. Each poet brings a unique perspective and style to the stage, ensuring a diverse and engaging experience for attendees.

Admission to Exprosé is free, but donations to the Twas The Bite Before Christmas charity are appreciated. The suggested age group for attendees is 19+. All necessary materials will be provided, but attendees are welcome to bring their own notebooks and pens. Free parking is available on-site, and refreshments will be provided at the venue.

In order to create a safe and respectful environment, Exprosé follows a strict code of conduct. Harassment or discrimination of any kind is not tolerated, and all attendees are encouraged to listen, speak, and give feedback with respect and gentleness. Personal stories shared during the event should remain confidential, unless permission to share them has been explicitly given.
