Even Here, Even Now’s first event on the mainland is a chance to meet island artists, find out more about our artist manifesto, and be a part of the #EvenHereEvenNow campaign. The early evening networking event - the same weekend as three major Celtic Connections gigs showcasing musicians from Orkney, Shetland, Uist and the Isle of Lewis – will include live performances by island musicians to be announced soon. Even Here, Even Now is a new “manifesto for change” collectively written by artists living in Shetland, Orkney and the Outer Hebrides. It represents the voices of musicians, visual artists, film-makers, theatre-makers and more, setting out the challenges facing island-based artists in Scotland and what needs to change so that creative voices who are a vital part of the national cultural conversation are heard and supported. The #EvenHereEvenNow campaign is supported by Shetland Arts, An Lanntair (Isle of Lewis), the Pier Arts Centre (Orkney) and Taigh Chearsabhagh (North Uist).

The famous local pedestrian street is not big in scale, but it is concentrated in quite a lot of beautiful and exquisite ancient buildings and a large number of small shops, so it attracts a lot of tourists to buy. Also common in various street performances.

We came here on a spontaneous visit one Sunday afternoon in January and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Our wee boy loved seeing the &ldquo;old fashioned house&rdquo; and was so well looked after by all the staff, from the cash register to the flat and back out again.

We went round twice (with a shift change between visits!) and the insight into one story of no doubt thousands like it in Glasgow was fantastic. Plus our boy thoroughly enjoyed colouring in his wallie dug. A hidden gem that is well worth the wander through Garnethill.

This is simply a dream castle. When I arrived, it was the April holiday, and there were almost no people on the road. Only the ancient buildings stood in the cold air, solemn and heavy, which made people feel awe.

It is the oldest religious building in the entire Scottish region. It is also a must-see for tourists.

George Square

George Square is located in Glasgow city center and is very conveniently accessible by train or subway. On nice days, you can sunbathe and watch pigeons in the square. It is close to the famous shopping street, where you can buy souvenirs, clothes, shoes and socks. There are also many restaurants and eateries to choose from. 
George Square is a must-see attraction. In addition to admiring the architecture of the square;during different festivals, such as Christmas, the square is built into a Christmas Market, becoming a dynamic and happy atmosphere.
