Hosted at the modern and airy space at Sealanes, spend a day with likeminded people, learning the basics of watercolour & landscape painting inspired by Ravilious's style. `Painting above by Eric Ravilious 1903 - 1942. Ravilious is a famous artist who is known for his paintings & prints of the Sussex countryside. What we'll be doing: We’ll be going over basic watercolour skillssuch as paint consistency, brush strokes, colour mixing, layering and more. We'll learn specific skills that Ravilious uses in his paintings to create depth & mood. We will be working from books & reference images, as well as learning how to create our own compositions. This workshop is 5 hours with a 30 min break. But you are welcome to take other breaks in between when you feel like it! We're right next to the beach, so hopefulyl it'll be sunny and we can go and sit and look at the sea 🌊 Low pressure: This class is a mixture of learning something new and more in depth as well as just having a lovely day. It’s a very low pressure and friendly class- while learning techniques - the most important thing is to just experiment and see what happens, and enjoy doing something arty surrounded by nature! Many people who come to my classes haven't painted since school - if you are one of those people you're very welcome. If you have previous drawing experience it will help you to focus a little more on the watercolour technique, where as if you are totally new, just be prepared it may take a little longer to combine all of the techiques we are learning together! As long as you come with an open mind, and try not to pressure yourself to create a masterpiece but focus on experimenting and learning, thats the main thing :-) How to get here: The Clubhouse at Sealanes - if you go into the cafe, and then come out the back, you'll see this building! I started teaching watercolours in March 2023 which is exciting because its been more than a year now! Multiple times week I run beginner watercolour classes where each session we have a different theme, generally to do with nature. This year I'm looking forward to running day courses, or some courses that span over a few weeks where we can get really stuck in to a particular subject. My background is in illustration which I studied in Bristol from 2016 - 2019. I have previously worked in a bit of editorial illustration under the name 'Zara Wilkins'. The thing I love most about watercolours is that it is so versatile. There are so many different ways it can be used, so many effects that you can create with different levels of water, pigment, paper weights and brushes. There doesn't really seem to be an end to what you can do with it. Teaching continues to be such a fun experience and I really look forward to every class I run. Had my first date here with my partner and we hadthe best time. An amazing aquarium with abeautiful atmosphere, lights and gorgeouscreatures! I love animals and fish and seeing themhere was wonderful. Staff were lovely and veryknowledgeable. The place was clean, easy tonavigate and extremely ambient and beautiful. We went on a Thursday afternoon so was pretty quiet!

One of the best piers in the South of England. There is lots to do with tons of seaside rides, fun arcade games and food. Highly recommend catching the sunset here and if you&rsquo;re lucky you might catch the starlings dancing at dusk, I didn&rsquo;t know they do this and it was the most spectacular striking and stunning natural phenomenon I had seen, it was mesmerising. Highest chances of seeing the starlings dance is between November-March, we visited in early March

more like a downtown touristy place with many cafes and cosmetic shops. very easy to get lost while looking for some place on maps. almost did when i was lookong for Mac cosmetics...you will find Jo Malone, Bobby Brown and Mac cosmetics all in one small area. and coffee shops too. on my second attempt i was looking for pizza express and i almost missed it. hehehh the lanes is one place that gets you wondering what exactly is going on with your maps application. definately recomend you to not miss it while in brighton. on your way to lanes you will meet Tmax the famous brand discount shop and boy, you will thank me then.
