Ecstatic Dance Charlotte presents a captivating event called "A Night of Ecstatic Dance" that celebrates the body and its divine expression through movement. This extraordinary collaboration between Ecstatic Dance Charlotte and the esteemed Alexander Caruso promises an unforgettable experience. Alexander, a world-traveling creative, author, and musician, draws inspiration from his extensive journeys, literature, meditation, and self-exploration. Crafted exclusively for the ecstatic dance community, his compositions take participants on a profound and emotional journey, brimming with love and bliss. The music showcases powerful dynamics, dreamy bass frequencies, and organic sounds and instruments that pay homage to the earth, the sun, and the essence of existence. Alexander's unique performance combines pre-produced tracks with live instrumentals from all around the world, including the santoor, konkovka, bansuri, sitar, darbuka, acoustic guitar, udu, and handpan. This immersive experience has the potential to unlock hidden layers of self-expression through movement. To enhance the ambiance, we encourage attendees to decorate their bodies with glow paint, creating a luminescent inner radiance. We will provide body paint, but feel free to bring any additional adornments. The event will take place on February 24, 2024, at AerialCLT in Charlotte, North Carolina, from 7 pm to 10 pm. Admission is on a sliding scale, ranging from $25 to $55, and spaces are limited, with a maximum of 100 participants. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Sacred Roots Spiritual Community. Please arrive by 6:45 pm to allow time for body painting. As a solemn reminder, we kindly request that attendees observe the following ceremony guidelines: Be Free - express yourself through dance without judgment, Be Present - refrain from using phones or cameras, Be Embodied - avoid talking or spectating, Be Clear - this is a sober event, so no intoxicants, Be Consensual - respect personal boundaries, Be Here - remove outside shoes, and Be On Time - doors will be locked after the opening circle.
