Join the exciting Drink & Draw at Confluence Park, an evening drawing skills session led by renowned artist Sarah Fox. This casual event welcomes participants of all skill levels to explore their creativity. Simply bring your favorite beverage, and we will provide the necessary drawing supplies and light snacks. Prepare for a delightful and slightly messy experience as we engage with charcoal and pastels to bring still-life scenes to life.

In addition to the drawing session, The River Foundation will offer a brief information session on open calls for artists and proposals for our esteemed 2024 Cultural Arts Program. Feel free to ask any questions you may have throughout the evening. Please note that this class has limited availability, with only 25 spots available. To secure your spot, we highly recommend booking in advance. If you are unable to attend after registering, kindly cancel your registration to allow others to participate.

Make a suggested donation of $10 upon registration to support this fantastic event. This gathering is exclusively for those aged 21 and above. 

About Sarah Fox:
Sarah Fox, a local San Antonio artist, weaves captivating multi-media narratives that delve into the realm of embodied female experience. Through her art, she portrays stories of life, loss, sex, and love using corporeal hybrid creatures. Her collages, cyanotypes, and animations exude a whimsical fairytale quality while hinting at a deeper symbolism. Fox's work has been showcased in various venues across Texas and internationally, including the Kinsey Institute, Field Projects Gallery, Espacio Dörffi, Casa Lu, and Darmstädter Sezession. In 2019, she received a prestigious Sustainable Arts Foundation grant, allowing her to live and create at the Women's Studio Workshop in New York with her son. Currently, Fox resides in San Antonio, where she teaches at Texas State University and organizes the Nature of Art Camp for aspiring young artists during the summer at Confluence Park.

The San Antonio Life Insurance Building is a landmark historic building in downtown San Antonio, Texas. The 31-story building is 123 meters tall. It opened in 1929 and was originally called the Smith Young Tower, which the Smith brothers bought in 1943. In 1953, a TV transmission tower was added to the structure. The 2010 renovation removed the outdated TV mast and replaced it with the original design of the tower, a bronze roof with a 100ft flagpole.

The only World Heritage Site in Texas is in San Antonio, and five Spanish mission stations, including The Alamo, not only witness the history of Spain&#39;s colonial period, but also showcase the culture of Spanish missionaries and indigenous peoples, without tickets. It&rsquo;s just that parking costs about $40. There are staff members showing the items used by people at the time, and there are people explaining on the spot... It&rsquo;s worth everyone to understand, the Alamo Battle at that time.

The San Antonio Zoo is a great place for families, with plenty of attractions for kids, a good mix of indoor and outdoor exhibits, and lots of spots to rest. The animals seem well cared for, and there&rsquo;s a wide variety to see, from giraffes to playful otters. The layout makes it easy to explore without feeling overwhelmed, and there are plenty of snack stands and shaded areas to take a break. The highlight of our visit was the kangaroo experience, where we got to walk among them up close. Overall, it&rsquo;s a fun, well-maintained zoo that&rsquo;s worth a visit.
