Join the Draw Derby event in Derby city center and experience the magic of drawing together. This monthly gathering, running since January 2022, welcomes everyone, from beginners to experienced artists. Drawing is a powerful tool that allows us to see the world in a different light, and by paying closer attention to the overlooked, we can change the way we perceive and engage with our surroundings. Inspired by Wendy MacNaughton's TED Talk, Draw Derby aims to connect like-minded individuals who share a passion for drawing.

Draw Derby is a free outdoor event held on the last Saturday of every month throughout the year. It is a love letter to Derby from its citizens and beyond, promoting a sense of community and encouraging a playful and curious attitude towards drawing. The gatherings take place in different locations within the city, offering diverse perspectives and opportunities for creativity. The Waterfall sculpture in the Market Place serves as the meeting point, where participants gather at 10:30 am.

During the event, there are no rules regarding materials or techniques. You are free to use your preferred tools and draw what you see in your own unique style. After two hours of drawing, participants have the option to share their artwork and exchange supportive feedback. However, sharing is not mandatory, and everyone is encouraged to participate in a way that suits them best.

In case of bad weather, alternative locations with overhead shelter will be chosen to ensure a comfortable drawing experience. Make sure to check the forecast and dress accordingly.
