The Dragon Boat Race at Leeds Dock in 2024 is set to be an exhilarating event that should not be missed. Taking place on Saturday, June 29th, from 10am to 5pm, this race will showcase teams of rowers competing for the highly coveted trophy. Participants of all skill levels are welcome to join, making it an inclusive and exciting experience. In addition to the intense competition on the water, there will also be a lively atmosphere on land. Visitors can indulge in delicious street food, enjoy various forms of entertainment, and even take part in a funfair. With the potential for sunny weather, it’s the perfect day out for everyone. To participate, teams will need to register and pay a fee of £250 per dragon boat. Each boat can accommodate between 6 and 10 paddlers, along with a drummer. Teams must consist of 7 to 11 individuals, but can have up to 15 members in total, allowing for flexibility in race lineups. Races will be structured with three rounds, followed by a semi-final and final. Once registered, teams will receive further information about the event, including what to expect on the day.
