Devoted Service Live Performance and Tour Join us for a performance of Devoted Service at the Anzac Memorial, Hyde Park. Recipient of a National Trust Heritage Award in the Education and Interpretation category, 2024 is the last chance for the public to see this piece of Great War verbatim theatre. Discover the incredible true stories of women who served as nurses and matrons during the Great War. In a moving live performance, you will hear words from the personal accounts of four New South Wales women brought to life by an actor. From the Gallipoli landing to the sinking of HMHS Gloucester Castle, you will be captivated by their extraordinary letters and diaries. This program also includes a short film featuring poetry written by convalescing soldiers, a tour of the Anzac Memorial, and an opportunity to explore the nurses’ personal objects on display in our Centenary Exhibition. 3 performances only. Don’t miss out.
Please arrive 10 minutes prior to the start time as no late arrivals will be accepted into the performance. Entry is via the Liverpool Street entrance.

While wandering around Hyde Park, we stumbled upon the Australian New Zealand War Memorial. From a distance, we found the building interesting and approached to see what it was. As we walked up the steps through the reflection pool in front, a friendly person appeared to greet us, asked if this was our first visit and offered to introduce us some information about the place. Others were nice and I guess he was a volunteer, maybe a veteran. He told us about the history of the place, both old and new, and who was responsible for each area. He explained the different areas of the memorial, and the beautiful statues decorated in the center of the building. We didn&#39;t have time to feel it because we were going to meet friends from overseas nearby. So we will come back here in the future, spend some quiet time and feel everything.
