Dance For Diversity presents an exclusive Sneak Peek Screening Event, showcasing short, preview screenings of four solo films by talented Dance Artists. These films not only embody the unique stories of identity of each artist but also highlight the collaborative process between the choreographers and cinematographers involved. The event offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the making of these films, including special footage, and provides an exciting opportunity to meet some of the artists in person.

Dance For Diversity is an annual screendance project series specifically designed to elevate the voices of Artists of Color. It provides a platform for these artists to express their personal experiences and address issues such as racial stereotypes, discrimination, and assumptions. By amplifying visibility, Dance For Diversity aims to create a consistent platform that centers the voices and stories of BIPOC Artists, fostering a sense of belonging and allowing them to reclaim their true identities.

The vision of Dance For Diversity is to empower Artists of Color to confidently own their true selves and claim their space both on and offstage. This project not only represents and celebrates the experiences of Artists of Color but also offers a valuable learning opportunity for diverse audience members to see themselves reflected in art and gain insight from the experiences of others.

The 2023 Dance For Diversity project is presented in collaboration with Danceworks, Inc.
