Under Nick Morley's expert guidance, participants will learn the essential techniques necessary to carve and print a beautiful multiblock linocut in color. You will discover the proper tools and materials to use, as well as how to plan and transfer your image onto the lino block. Safety measures for using cutting tools will also be covered.

In addition, you will learn the correct method for inking the block and printing by hand using a traditional wooden spoon or with a printing press. Nick will guide you through planning a multiblock design and working in layers, as well as color mixing and blends. The workshop will culminate in each participant producing their own small edition of a print (A5 size) to take home.

Nick Morley, a linocut artist with twenty years of experience, has authored two books on the subject and is highly skilled in teaching linocut techniques. The workshop will take place at Hello Print Studio, a professional artist's printmaking studio located at RESORT in Margate.
