From lasers to electronics and atomic clocks, quantum science has already transformed our lives. Now, emerging technologies such as quantum computers, sensors and quantum communications, offer the promise of a second quantum revolution. What makes quantum information processing so powerful? CAP Herzberg Memorial Public Lecture
This lecture series was named the “Herzberg Memorial Public Lecture” in honour of Nobel Laureate, Dr. Gerhard Herzberg. Dr. Herzberg was a researcher at the University of Saskatchewan (1935-1945), and was a longstanding member of the Canadian Association of Physicists. The lecture series, which follows the CAP annual congress to different universities across Canada, recognizes Dr. Herzberg’s known desire to increase the awareness and appreciation of science amongst the public, particularly youth. Support for the Herzberg lecturer is provided, in part, through a bequest from Dr. Herzberg.
