We are thrilled to announce the first event of the highly anticipated C. Bechstein Recital Series with the extraordinary South Korean pianist, Jackie JK Yoo. Taking place on February 8, 2024, at the prestigious C. Bechstein Centre Manchester Ltd in the heart of Manchester, this recital promises to be an evening of musical brilliance.

The programme for the evening will showcase the immense talent of Jackie JK Yoo with a captivating selection of classical compositions. The recital will commence with W. A. Mozart's Sonata no. 15 in F Major, K. 533, a masterpiece consisting of three movements. Of particular note is the final movement, Rondo, originally a stand-alone piece composed by Mozart in 1786 (Rondo No. 2, K. 494), which the composer later incorporated as the finale of K. 533.

Following this, Jackie JK Yoo will grace the stage with Robert Schumann's Toccata Op. 7, a work famously referred to by Schumann himself as the hardest piece ever written. This piece, partially based on the Czerny Toccata in C major, Op. 92, holds its place as one of the most challenging compositions in the piano repertoire.

As the grand finale, Jackie JK Yoo will mesmerize the audience with Schumann's Symphonic Etudes Op. 13. Originally consisting of a theme and sixteen variations, this set of études for solo piano has been meticulously restored by Johannes Brahms. The recital will include the twelve existing variations, as well as the five posthumous variations, creating a truly unforgettable musical experience.
