The Breath and The Pause: 5Rhythms Waves and Art Workshop, taking place in Asheville, North Carolina, is an immersive experience that delves into the realms of breath and movement through Gabrielle Roth's 5Rhythms. Led by 5Rhythms teacher Karen Chapman and art therapist Ella Dufrene, this workshop invites participants to embark on a journey of self-discovery and creative expression.

Karen will guide participants through Gabrielle Roth's rhythmic maps, including the Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness rhythms. No prior movement experience is required to take part in this transformative workshop.

Ella will lead a voyage of self-discovery through creative expression, exploring the essence of breath and the transformative power of pausing. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect artistically, uncovering the depths of their breath and embracing the potency of the pause.

This workshop is based on the philosophy that motion can heal the psyche and serves as both medicine and metaphor. It transcends language, culture, and age, converting suffering into art, art into awareness, and awareness into action. Participants on the 5Rhythms dancing path will receive 1 day's credit.

Cancellation is possible up to a week before the workshop, subject to a $35 administrative fee. No refunds are applicable for cancellations within a week of or during the workshop. Participants are advised to dress comfortably in layers, dance barefoot (or wear dance shoes if preferred), and bring plenty of water, personal snacks, a journal, and art materials. Light snacks, fruits, and tea will be provided.
