The Boston Open & NUQ weightlifting event, sanctioned by USAW, will take place on Sunday, April 28th, 2024, at Cambridge Strength and Conditioning in Arlington, MA. This event is open to all lifters and serves as a National University Qualifier. The venue, located at 1 Broadway, offers ample space with rubber flooring and a space heater. Participants and spectators are advised to dress warmly as the venue can become cold due to its large size. Graviton Fitness, located behind Cambridge Strength and Conditioning, provides restroom facilities and parking options. The event will feature a mix of pounds and kilo bars, plates, and bumpers, with a warm-up area available. Eligibility requires participants to be registered members in good standing with USA Weightlifting. Collegiate/university athletes must present a valid university ID or a recent transcript showing active enrollment. Entry fees range from $65 to $100, with college students required to show proof of school ID at weigh-ins. The schedule will be finalized closer to the competition based on entries, with sessions potentially split, combined, or added. Awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in weight classes for youths, female, and male lifters, with a possible best overall lifter trophy based on ROBI.
