Bios
Samson Wrote is a post-folk singer-songwriter project combining the songs and sound of Sam Boer (he/they) + friends across Canada. Since the release of their debut album Pigeon, Samson Wrote has been nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award, been praised by Exclaim! as “prolific and expansive," and performed across Canada and Europe. His new album In Season will be released in 2025. // Justin Orok is a Toronto-based singer-songwriter best known for his intricate, character-driven narrative songwriting. His debut album Kanata, featuring Polaris-prize winning producer Jean Martin (Tanya Tagaq), was released to critical acclaim on Paraphenalia Records in Japan. Releasing in 2025 are two new recordings: Debt, a collection of cover songs by his mentors, and his sophomore full-length album.
Accolades
Sam Boer's debut album "Pigeon" was was nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award in the “Pushing the Boundaries” category and praised by Exclaim! as “prolific and expansive," and his single “Little Parts" was nominated for “Song of the Year” by Folk Music Ontario. Samson Wrote has performed across Canada and Europe, including at festivals like Egersund Visefestival (Norway), Flourish (Fredericton, NB), and Hillside (Guelph, ON). // Justin Orok's debut album "Kanata" was released to critical acclaim in Japan on Paraphenalia Records. He performs reguarly with some of Canada's most respected musicians including John Southworth, Andrew Downing, Luka Kuplowsky, Thom Gill, Felicity Williams and supports younger songwriters through his ongoing series at the Tranzac. He also works as a freelance media composer/songwriter and has a catalogue with over 8 million streams.

IMPORTANT ACCESSIBILITY INFO
We provide gender-neutral washrooms. We have one wheelchair accessible washroom. There is no wheelchair ramp. There is a set of 8 stairs to get into the building (7 steps, small landing, and then an 8th step). Once inside, the whole cafe floor is flat, with the exception of our small room to the side, which is a small step down.
We are licensed to provide alcohol, but serve a variety of non-alcoholic options.
This event takes place on the traditional unceded, unsurrendered territory of the Anishinaabe Algonquin People.

Parliament Hill is the office of the Canadian government and is usually closed to the public. Now there is a light show every night at 5:30, which projects pictures with constantly changing colors and music. The whole show is about 10 minutes long and is played in a loop all night.

The Governor General of Canada is the highest leader of the country and the representative of the British monarch in Canada. The Governor General&#39;s Palace is free to visit, but reservations are required in advance. There are staff to guide you through the tour and give explanations, which takes about an hour. There is a bronze statue of Queen Elizabeth II riding a horse on the roundabout outside the gate.

The stalls in the Byward Market are small, and they sell food, clothing, handicrafts, and tourist souvenirs.
