Their discussions will explore the principles guiding collection access and how the gallery facilitates engagement with students and researchers. Key themes will include the decolonisation of museum collections, the influence of founding curators Michael Sullivan, Lu Yaw, and William Willetts, and how their philosophies shaped current practices. Additionally, the conversation will address how temporality is integrated into the collection's narrative and how educational strategies can leverage the Resource Gallery to bridge gaps in academic discourse, especially in Southeast Asian history and art. The Resource Gallery at NUS Museum continues to serve as a platform for both historical and contemporary dialogues, fostering interdisciplinary connections and reinterpreting past curatorial lines of thought. Meet Zinn and Eugene!Zinnurain Nasir (Assistant Curator for the Singapore Collection) (Right)Zinnurain Nasir (Zinn) is an Assistant Curator at the NUS Museum, where his research focuses on interdisciplinary explorations of Nusantara textiles, Jawi-script magazines and the microhistories of urban spaces. His work navigates the transversalities and temporalities of materials such as textiles, highlighting the deeper connections between objects and the discourses that surround them. In his writings, Zinn emphasises the relationships between materialities and art in the context of Singapore and immediate broader world, advocating for a shift beyond the traditional perception of objects and art as static entities placed on pedestals. He seeks to uncover new ways to engage audiences with the narratives that these materials carry. Zinn's broader interests include examining the role of technologies in curation, exploring how digital tools can democratise access to museums and engage wider audiences. Through his work, he aims to make the museum experience more inclusive and accessible to often-overlooked communities. Eugene Koh (Faculty Engagement Executive) (Left)Eugene is a Faculty Engagement Executive from the Outreach team at NUS Museum. Having graduated with a degree in Theatre Studies from NUS, his interests lie in the storytelling potential of interdisciplinary explorations, weaving and synthesising empathetic responses with structured research and analysis, often in consideration of multiple perspectives and diverse sources of knowledge. For him, the Resource Gallery serves as a compelling starting point to delve into the history and functions of the Museum, as well as facilitating conversations with researchers and faculty members to embark on potential research directions. Join Zinn and Eugene as they share their perspectives in curating and creating access to NUS Museum's Resource Gallery. About the Resource Gallery:The Resource Gallery functions as an open-storage display of selected artefacts from the Museum’s collections and their beginnings. Objects are organised to accommodate their material categories and classifications. Highlights include classical sculptures, miniatures and modern paintings donated by the Indian Government to the University of Malaya in 1959; and objects collected by early university curators in Singapore including Michael Sullivan, William Willetts and Lu Yaw forming the seed collection of the University. They form the categories of South and Southeast Asian art, Southeast Asian ceramics and Chinese ceramics. The Resource Gallery is open to the public during the Museum’s opening hours.

The time to see first, the time of the water world performance, and then arrange the play order reasonably. The water world performance. It is still worth watching. Missed the weekend, fewer people. We played all day, and almost all the projects were played again ☺️

It is worth a visit. The must-see attractions in Singapore. The Marina Bay Garden is beautiful. The night view is better at night. The charged flower has air conditioning in it. It is very cool and can be visited for two or three hours. Every once in a while, there is also a theme flower show.

A unique and beautiful experience with the safari and night marketplace, but hard to see the animals in the night with a lot of people, and a bit redundant after a visit to the Rainforest Wildlife Asia in the day. For $45, this two hour visit is not the best value for the money.

It&rsquo;s fun to watch the performance, the sound effect is good, and there will be staff with small animals around you. It&rsquo;s just that this small train is not sitting. I can&rsquo;t see anything at night. The surrounding animals are far away and stinky. . .

Skyline slope slide, experience scalping! From the top of the Inbio Mountain in Sentosa, the child took the slide and flew down the 650-meter runway from the height of the 12-story building. The speed was controlled by him, which was both exciting and safe. There are 4 slides to choose from, and the child chose the green line with more curves and called directly. After sliding to the foot of the mountain, take the sky chair back to the starting point, the hanging chair overlooks Sentosa and the Singapore city skyline, beautiful. In the evening, you can see the beautiful scenery of the sunset and experience the romance of the &quot;setsun flyer&quot;. Children are still not full of fun, highly recommended to parents and children, is a must-play project in Singapore!
