The Barrow Ranking Race - New Date is set to take place in Athy on April 21, 2024. Participants can choose from four route options varying in length and difficulty, starting at different points along the River Barrow. The race begins at Monasterevin for the Long Course, Vicarstown for the Medium Course, and the Athy Rowing & Canoeing Club (ARC) for the Short and Novice Courses. The Long Course spans from Monasterevin to the ARC clubhouse covering 21km, while the Short Course involves a 3km route from ARC to Athy Town Bridge. Those looking for a shorter challenge can opt for the 1.5km Novice Course from ARC to Athy Bridge and back. To register, participants must provide their Canoeing Ireland Membership number or CANI/BCU card at Entry. Online bookings must be completed by 6pm on Saturday before the race day.
