The National Day on October 26th traditionally begins with the laying of wreaths by Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen and the Federal Government. Afterwards, a large-scale swearing-in ceremony for a thousand Austrian recruits will take place on Heldenplatz, with two fighter jets and a C-130 Hercules aircraft flying over. The Austrian Armed Forces will also be present in two other squares. In addition, foreign delegations will be present in the Hof Theater and in the disaster relief and nuclear, biological and chemical units. In addition, the Security Festival of the City of Vienna will be held on the Rathausplatz. The focus of the performance program this year is the militia units; Austrian director Ruzowitzky has made four videos for the Austrian Armed Forces for this purpose, which will be shown on their own homepage and on ORF from 9 am on October 26th.
