Join artist Bill Duncan as he shares the captivating stories behind his Iceland: Invisible Landscapes exhibition. Taking place at Discovery Point in Dundee on January 27th, 2024, at 2pm, this artist talk is not to be missed. Duncan will delve into his career as an artist and his incredible journeys along the long-distance trails of Iceland's Southern Highlands. Equipped with an infrared camera, he stayed in mountain huts to capture the stunning landscapes. The exhibition, running from January 13th to March 10th, showcases Duncan's striking photography and poetic expressions, serving as a heartfelt ode to the Southern Icelandic highlands. Amidst the grandeur of these landscapes, the exhibition also draws attention to the impact of climate change. Visitors can expect to see a range of artistic responses, including paintings, diary entries, and poetry that were inspired by Duncan's experiences. With a passion for northern landscapes and weather, Bill Duncan has a rich body of work that explores the role of red deer in Scottish culture and celebrates Scotland's mountains, islands, and coastal areas. Don't miss this opportunity to gain insight into Duncan's artistry and be inspired by the beauty of Iceland. Admission to the artist talk and exhibition is free, excluding entry to Discovery Point museum and RRS Discovery, which can be purchased separately.
