Oliver Bliss will be leading a visual arts workshop on the theme of 'Work' as part of the History in the Making project in Worcester. This project aims to celebrate Worcestershire's rich heritage and give a voice to underrepresented communities through a year-long programme of creative activities. The workshop will draw inspiration from the collections in Worcestershire Archives and Worcester Cathedral's Library, allowing participants to explore and discuss their own stories of Worcester and their relationship with the city. The workshop will be free of charge, thanks to generous funding from Arts Council England and additional support from Worcester City Council. Participants will have the opportunity to create art and engage in discussions guided by facilitators Oliver Bliss, Gerard Winter-Hughes, and Holly Winter-Hughes. The three partnering venues - Worcester Cathedral, Worcester Archive & Archaeology Service at The Hive, and Sugar Daddy's Café - all have their own unique place in the city's history, which will contribute to the creative work produced during this community-focused project. The workshop will take place on January 30, 2024, at The Hive in Worcester. For individuals with specific access needs, such as BSL interpreting or languages other than English, funds are available to provide support.
