Experience QAGOMA’s Indigenous Australian Art Collection during the Art & This Place: First Nations Tours on Sunday, April 21, May 26, and June 3 at Queensland Art Gallery in South Brisbane. Join a First Nations storyteller and creative individual as they delve into the rich history, culture, and narratives behind the artworks on display. The tour will spotlight renowned artists such as D Harding, Iltja Ntjarra artists, Hermannsburg School artists, Kaylene Whiskey, Audrey Tigan, and Paddy Bedford. Sandy Harvey, a proud Kalkadoon woman and Public Programs Project Officer at QAGOMA, will facilitate the event. Admission is free, but reservations are necessary due to limited capacity. The tour content will be the same across all dates. Attendees are encouraged to engage in respectful conversations, ask questions, and participate in discussions. The tour will proceed regardless of weather conditions, with both indoor and outdoor components. Wheelchair and pram accessibility is available. Portable stools will be provided, and the facilitator will use a microphone for audibility. Attendees can request accommodations for hearing impairments in advance.
