Construction and reconstruction: In 325 AD, Constantine the Great built it to worship Sophia, the goddess of wisdom, but it was damaged in war. In 532, Justinian I ordered the reconstruction, and it was completed on December 27, 537.

&bull; Converted to a mosque: In 1453, the Ottoman Empire captured Constantinople and converted it into a mosque, and built four tall minarets around it.

&bull; Converted to a museum: It was secularized in 1934 and became a museum in Istanbul, Turkey.

Architectural features

&bull; Large scale: The plane is approximately square, 77 meters long from east to west, 71.0 meters wide from north to south, and the large dome above the central hall is 54.8 meters high. The space is more spacious and open than the Pantheon in Rome.

&bull; Dome structure: The hemispherical dome with a diameter of 33 meters in the middle and a height of 15 meters is composed of 40 rib arches, connected to the drum seat below, and the four corners are transformed from a circular plane into a square through sail buttresses, which are placed on huge piers at the four corners.

&bull; Interior decoration: The floor is paved with multi-colored marble, and the walls are inlaid with colorful marble patterns. The dome retains Byzantine frescoes, and the intersection of the capital, base and column body is decorated with gorgeous patterns with gold and blue as the background.

The Bosphorus Strait is north of the Black Sea, the Marmara Sea and the Mediterranean Sea, separating Turkey into Asia and Europe. Istanbul is located on the two sides of the central and southern section of the Strait. It was built in 1973 to cross the Bosphorus Highway Bridge, which is 1560 meters long. There is a beautiful myth in the Bosphorus. It is said that Zeus, the first of the gods, had a lover named Io, who turned Io into a cow to hide it from his wife Hera. Hera later learned about it. The Blue Mosque

The Blue Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey (also known as Suleiman Mosque) uses Byzantine-style domes combined with Islamic architectural elements, with a diameter of27.5 meters, 4 sub-domes and 30 small domes distributed around, without pillar support. No nails were used when construction, relying on masonry structure alone, after 400 years of earthquakes still standing. The central hall inside is nearly 5,000 square meters, surrounded by 260 small windows and stained glass windows, forming a light and shadow changeable &quot;light dance space&quot;. Designer Kocha Mimar Shinan (April 15, 1489 － April 9, 1588) was Michelangelo from the Ottoman era. Along the way, in addition to the Blue Mosque in Istanbul (Sulaiman Mosque), built in 1550 ～ in 1557, we were very lucky to visit two other masterpieces of the great designer: 1 ️⃣ the Grand Mosque in Sarajevo, capital of BiH (Guz Hussere Berg Mosque), Built in 1531; 2️⃣ Mohammed Pasha Sokorovich Bridge in Visegrad, Bosnia and Herzegovina, built in 1577. ​
