The theme of the 2025 Altar of the Dead is "Cabaret El Recuerdo" (Memory). It's based on Mexican cabaret, a form of performance that originated in the early 20th century and was influenced by European cabaret, particularly French and German cabaret. It was first introduced to Mexico as a form of nighttime entertainment in cafes and lounges, but quickly became its own distinct identity. 
Every element evokes the spirits of those who are not yet fully gone. Their laughter still lingers in the air, their footsteps still beat the rhythm backstage, and their memories shine like the final spotlight on stage. The altar not only honors the memory of those who have passed, but also reminds us that life, like the greatest cabaret, should be sung, danced, and loved until the end. 
The design and coordination of the altar will be by architect and designer Guillermo González, known for his ability to transform spaces into unforgettable venues filled with magic, elegance, and creativity. The altar is composed of three main pieces of folk art: a Catalina head made using the cardboard technique, an acrylic skull sculpture, and a blown glass ball.

Booking tickets on Ctrip was very convenient, at least in China, because it&#39;s easier to do online than on the official website. While the price was a bit high, it was worth it. The only downside was that while I was told my booking would allow me to enter directly, I actually had to redeem my ticket at the designated ticket window. I hope Ctrip can fix this.
