When an elderly donor calls from ICU and requests a CRT to be funded by her multi-million dollar home in Beverly Hills - what do you do? This case study follows the journey of a gift officer who must consider the moral, legal and ethical ramifications of this large gift from a vulnerable donor. The interactive presentation poses tough questions to attendees, who must decide how they would proceed through each step of the process.
Fundraising Playbook: Winning the Planned Giving Long Game (General)
Fundraising, especially when implementing complex and deferred giving solutions, is like football—look at the whole field, get your donors moving, make the right plays, and keep the momentum going! To be successful on the fundraising field requires an orchestration of play-calling and superior execution as a team. This session will inspire you to get in the game while sharing the right plays needed to succeed.

Kimberly Jetton, MNM, CFRE
Kimberly stands as a distinguished figure in the realm of planned giving, garnering national recognition for her prowess in fund development and gift planning. Currently at the helm of Pleiades Nonprofit Advisors as President, Kimberly seamlessly guides clients through the intricate landscape of gift planning. Her expertise spans the entire spectrum, from prospect identification to targeted marketing outreach and personal donor interaction.
In her previous role as President and Executive Director of the Orange Catholic Foundation, Kimberly orchestrated a transformative chapter in fundraising. Under her leadership, the foundation embraced a new era, complete with a meticulously crafted long-term strategic plan and a revitalized business model.
Prior to this, she served at the Archdiocese of Los Angeles as the Director of Planned Giving. There, she pioneered a flagship program for Estate Planning Seminars and donor outreach, resulting in an impressive $110 million secured during her five-year tenure through over 300 seminars.
Kimberly's credentials include being a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE), holding a Master's Degree in Nonprofit Management from Regis University, and a BA in Political Science from the University of Arizona.
Andy Ragone, CGPP, MDiv
Andy Ragone brings a thoughtful and practical approach to the intersection of marketing and gift planning strategies. As a speaker, writer, and advisor, Andy has spent his career helping nonprofits connect donors to meaningful opportunities that create lasting impact and joy.
After many years with Crescendo Interactive as a marketing and sales representative, Andy joined the Pleiades Nonprofit Advisor team, where he continues to support organizations in navigating complex asset and estate gifts. By focusing on specialized marketing, engagement, and moves-management techniques, he has helped nonprofits of all sizes strengthen their outreach and deepen their relationships with donors.
Andy is a Certified Gift Planning Professional (CGPP) and serves on the boards of Arizona Charitable Gift Planners and the Northern California Planned Giving Council. He recently completed his term with the Southern California Gift Planning Council, furthering his commitment to advancing the field and fostering professional collaboration.
Earlier in his career, Andy served as an executive pastor, where he gained hands-on experience in organizational growth—developing staff and culture, coordinating volunteers, and designing fundraising systems. With over two decades of leadership in large churches, Andy understands the challenges nonprofits face and brings a well-rounded perspective to his work.
Andy holds a BA in Music from Arizona State University and a Master of Divinity from Phoenix Seminary. Whether working with nonprofits or advising on donor strategies, Andy’s goal is always the same: to help others make a meaningful difference in their communities.
