The Adult Confidence Booster Course (Sat 10th & 17th Feb) - 2.00-3.30pm is an ideal opportunity for adults (16+) who can ride a bike but lack the confidence to ride on the roads. This course, held in Norwich at Eaton Park, is designed specifically to equip adults with the necessary skills and confidence required for road cycling. Over the duration of 2 x 1.5 hour sessions, participants will learn various essential techniques. These include starting and stopping with confidence, passing stationary vehicles on roads, and understanding road signals, signs, and markings. They will also learn how to navigate different road scenarios, such as quiet junctions, crossroads, and roundabouts, while sharing the road with other vehicles.

Furthermore, participants will have the opportunity to advance their cycling skills. They will be taught how to assume the best riding position for any situation, ride alongside other cyclists, and handle more complex roads, including busier roads, junctions controlled by traffic lights, multi-lane roads, and cycle lanes. Sessions will be conducted in both traffic-free areas and on local roads to provide practical experience.

To participate in the course, riders must bring their own bike and helmet. It is important to ensure that the bike is in good working order before the first session. Thanks to funding from the Cycling UK Big Bike Revival project, this course is offered free of charge.
