Resident artist Rosa Valladares will lead the Accordion Bookmaking Workshop on Saturday, June 1st, 2024, at Pine Meadow Ranch Center for Arts & Agriculture in Sisters. This workshop combines bookmaking and Turkish Map folding techniques to explore the significance of the river in the community and the journey of fish during migration. Participants will use writing, drawing, and various techniques to embody the essence of the river and transform abstract ideas into tangible creations that evoke emotions and stories. Under the guidance of instructor Rosa Valladares, a skilled visual artist specializing in printmaking and mixed media, attendees of all skill levels will engage in a hands-on experience in creating multi-media artwork. Through the interplay of different materials, including metals, clay, fabric, and papers, participants will delve into new interpretations of nature and foster a dialogue between various artistic mediums. Please note the cancellation policy: A $20 fee will be applied for cancellations made less than a week before the workshop. No refunds will be issued within 7 days of the event, but a 50% refund is available for cancellations made 7-14 days prior. In the event of inclement weather or instructor unavailability, full refunds will be provided.
