Fight Like a Highlander Have you ever wondered how the Highlanders fought with their swords? Drawing on written accounts from the 18th century, your instructor will guide you safely through the steps as you learn to spar with boffer padded swords (common swords used for teaching historical fencing). You will learn how to move, cut, and defend yourself using Highland fencing instructions from the 18th century. This is an active event so please wear comfortable clothing and flat soled trainers. This is part of a block of 6 sessions which be led by a coach at Inverness Leisure (except for the 6th of Spetember, which will be uncoached). Each session can be booked individually and you can attend as many of the session as you like. All equipment is provided, and you can bring your own equipment if you have it. There are a max of 16 spaces for each session. If you are no longer able to make it to a session you booked, please let us know so we can offer the space to someone else.
