Smith and Sniff live at the Aston Workshop Car Barn Jonny Smith and Richard Porter are recording another episode of Britain’s most popular car podcast in front of a live audience, and for this one they're back at the Aston Workshop Car Barn in County Durham, scene of a very snowy OTLOT two years ago. Starting from theCo-Op car park the walk passes through Shifnal and under the M54 to walk along field edges to Coppice Green House. There are obvious paths across 3 fields with far-reaching views towards Lizard Wood, and a small fishing lake. Continue to Coppice Green Lane – a delightful oak tree-lined avenue with Lizard Wood on the right. After the private entrance to the wood, the walk follows a wide farm track through fields to Lizard Lane, which is followed for approximately 1.5 miles to the busy Tong – Shifnal road. After walking under the M54 again, the walk follows the Monarch’s Way and eventually passes over Bonemill Bridge, which crosses the railway line. On reaching Twybrook Cottage there is a footpath through a small copse. This can be very overgrown. The route continues forwards to Hinnington Road before turning right up this long straight lane, to return to Shifnal. Grade of Walk: Easy/Moderate Pace: Leisurely/Steady Terrain: Mixed -roads, tracks, footpaths, field edges, some sections may be muddy and/or overgrown at this time of year. Steps and Stiles: No steps, some stiles. Dog Friendly: NO Walk Leader: Linda Birtwhistle Specific Walk Information:Some roads can be busy Essential Information for Walkers All walks take place within the Ironbridge Gorge which will naturally include uphill and downhill sections.
