The ACWA US Open - National Championships is set to take place on December 17, 2023, at Brea-Olinda High School in Brea, California. With a double elimination format, participants will have the chance to prove themselves on the mats and compete for the title of NATIONAL CHAMPION. The American Catch Wrestling Association (ACWA), in collaboration with UWF USA and Brea Wrestling, aims to reignite interest in Catch Wrestling and provide a platform for the development of a modern amateur Catch-as-Catch-can style for wrestling. This event aims to complement existing styles of amateur wrestling and grappling such as Folkstyle, Freestyle, Greco-Roman, BJJ, Submission Wrestling, Sambo, and UWW Grappling. The rules are straightforward, with victory achieved through pin, submission, or points. Matches will be six minutes long, and participants are allowed to wear shoes and headgear.
