We are at a vital crossroads in the future of our land and seas. Why Not Scotland? explores the Scottish landscape through the eyes of Flo, a young Scot from Glasgow. Seeing the depleted state of nature across her own country, Flo feels dispirited and increasingly fearful about an uncertain future, like many of her generation. However, on a journey around Europe, Flo encounters a different story, finding places where nature is making a dramatic comeback, revitalising human communities. Encouraged by these stories of hope and renewal, she is prompted to wonder: if this is possible elsewhere, then why not Scotland? While this is being hosted at the Eco-Hub, you do not need to be a student at the University of Glasgow to attend. Find out more: https://www.scotlandbigpicture.com/why-not-scotland In order to make positive change, we must work together. This film screening is being brought to you in collaboration with: GUEST (https://www.gla.ac.uk/myglasgow/sustainability/guest/) Glasgow University Environmental Sustainability Team (GUEST) is a team of highly motivated student interns employed by the university to improve sustainability on campus. We aim to promote environmentalism, climate action and social justice through our actions. 2050 Climate Group Leaders Network (https://www.2050.scot/leaders-network)2050 Climate Group’s Leaders Network is a supportive, collaborative community facilitating opportunities for our Young Leaders to connect and celebrate with each other as we work towards a just and sustainable society. Our monthly meet-ups are all about keeping things relaxed, creative and refreshingly unpretentious. No rigid workshops or intimidating art jargon—just a free space to unleash your inner artist, even if it’s been hiding for decades. Here’s the best part: anyone can collage. Seriously. If you’ve got paper and an idea — or even just paper — you’re halfway there. We do ask that if you're coming along, please bring some materials you are happy to share with the rest of the group. Any old newspapers, magazines, off cuts of wallpaper - anything you're not precious about keeping. One man's trash is another man's treasure and all that! Look forward to seeing you there! The Soul Circle is a sacred gathering space where hearts, energy, and spirit come together in harmony. It is more than a circle—it is a portal of connection to our higher selves, spirit guides, and the universal flow of love. Within this space, we open ourselves to healing frequencies, guided by Reiki energy and the wisdom that flows through unseen realms. Together, we release what no longer serves us and anchor light, peace, and renewal. Every soul is held in unconditional acceptance. Through meditation, channeled messages, and energetic practices, we deepen our awareness of the infinite support surrounding us—our guides, ancestors, and the pure essence of Source itself. The Soul Circle is a reminder: we are never alone. As we sit in this field of resonance, we recharge, realign, and remember who we truly are—divine beings of light, here to heal, connect, and expand.
