Under the guidance of Sheffield artist and printmaker Helen Darlington, participants will learn the process of linocut printmaking and create their own one colour prints. Working from their own drawings or photographs, students will have the opportunity to carve, ink up, and print a small edition of original artworks using the professional quality equipment and materials provided at Carousel Print Studio. At the end of the course, attendees will take home their hand carved printing blocks and their own one colour prints, ready to frame! The workshop is relaxed and fun, and drawing skills are not necessary to enjoy it. All materials and equipment will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring some ideas or reference material to draw from. Please wear old clothes as printing can get messy, and aprons will be provided. Teas, coffee, and biscuits will also be available.
