Net Zero Sports Doncaster: Carbon Literacy Training | Cast
Sports & Fitness
Join the Carbon Literacy Action Day in Doncaster for the launch of the city's first Climate Education program for the Sports Sector. Whether you work in a sports club, foundation, venue, manufacturer, or governing body in Doncaster, this training is designed for you. The event will take place at Cast in Doncaster on December 4, 2023. This full-day face-to-face Carbon Literacy session, in partnership with the Carbon Literacy Project, aims to provide essential knowledge and support for your group, organization, or venue to address the priority of "Tackling Climate Change" in Doncaster's Great 8 priorities. Carbon Literacy is all about understanding the carbon costs and impact of everyday activities and finding ways to reduce emissions at an individual, community, and organizational level. By attending this training, you will gain a deeper understanding of the basic science of climate change, discuss local climate events and their impact on the sports sector, explore climate equity and vulnerability through the Doncaster lens, and learn about the co-benefits and business case for climate action. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to calculate your individual carbon footprint and appreciate the organizational footprint. After completing the course and a short action plan, you will be accredited as "Carbon Literate" and become a member of an internal forum for ongoing support. Don't miss this opportunity to become part of the net-zero sports movement in Doncaster and contribute to tackling climate change in the sports sector. The ticket for this event is free, and registration is open now.
