The 3rd Annual Saint J Fitness Turkey Trot is a highly anticipated event taking place on Thanksgiving Eve in Oakton, VA. Participants will gather at 11207 Sorrel Ridge Lane to engage in this exhilarating race. Whether you are an experienced runner or simply looking to get some exercise before the holiday, this event is suitable for all fitness levels. Lace up your running shoes and prepare to run, jog, or trot your way to the finish line. There will be prizes awarded for each age group, adding a friendly competitive element to the event. Additionally, every participant who registers before November 14th will receive a stylish event t-shirt. It is important to register early as t-shirts are guaranteed only for those who sign up before the deadline. Remember, if you register after November 14th, you will not receive a shirt. Safety is our top priority, so it is mandatory for all participants, including children, to register and have a waiver and release on file. We want everyone, young and old, to enjoy the event responsibly. Please note that there are no refunds available. In the spirit of giving, this year's event aims to support humanitarian efforts in Israel and Gaza through a donation to UNICEF. We encourage everyone to consider donating to these impactful causes as we enter the holiday season. The race day will consist of a challenging 5k course, as well as a 1.5-mile option for walkers. Children can also participate in a fun run with an approximately 0.5-mile route. The schedule for the day includes the National Anthem, the start of the 5k race, the kids' fun run, a post-race ceremony, and prize distribution. Prizes include gift cards, beauty services, and more surprises generously donated by our sponsor, Squargles, and other contributors. Parking is available on Sorrel Ridge Lane, and we recommend parking toward the top to reduce congestion. Consider carpooling if possible. Elevate Youth is seeking biking volunteers to help guide and facilitate mountain biking skills for youth. We have a limited number of bikes available, so please select whether you'll need a bike provided or if you can bring your own when signing up. Either way, we’re excited to have you bring your skills and enthusiasm! We will plan to meet volunteers at the school where we would appreciate assistance in unloading bikes from the van. We may stay at the school or head to a nearby park. There will be 3-4 poses in a session which are held for longer periods of time than traditional yoga. The participant will be supported in the poses with props, blankets, and towels to assist with the process of relaxing the nervous system and decreasing feelings of stress in the mind and body. Each participant will be guided through the movements and eased into deep relaxation; allowing themselves to quiet their mind, body, and emotions. What is Sound Healing? Sounds healing is the use of tones and vibrations that assist in relaxation and promotes balance in the mind, body, and psyche. Sound healing uses various tools (bowls, chimes, tuning forks, etc.) and ” sound frequencies to create a therapeutic atmosphere to promote deep rest, nervous system rebalancing, and emotional release”. Essential Oil Experience Essential oils will be used in the session to enhance the experience, improve mood, and promote relaxation.
