The New Westminster Police Department is seeking volunteer coaches for it's annual summer soccer school. This event takes place at Queens Park in New Westminster, and runs from July 14th to July 18th, from 830am to 130pm daily. (Must be 11 years of age or older) The event will host approximately 300 kids aged five to ten years old. Youth coaches will be responsible for working closely with a police officer to coach teams of kids through the week. The youth coaches are responsible for promoting safety, fun, teamwork and overall a positive summer soccer school experience. In order to register, a youth coach must commit to all five days of the event. Our PIPSC CP Subgroup is hosting a picnic on Saturday, July 19th starting at 2pm . It's the perfect opportunity to relax, enjoy the kids water park, outdoor swimming pool, and connect with fellow members. Don't forget to bring your favorite picnic blanket, beach chairs, and beach umbrellas! And to top it all, there is also an off-leash dog park, so bring your entire family, dogs included!!! We can't wait to see you there! There is limited free parking at the upper Hume Park (kids water park area). There are more free parking spaces at the lower Hume Park (slightly longer walk). Learn key techniques for pressing and preserving plants and get an overview of how to use these methods for fun, sustainable crafts, and educational purposes. Practice pressing and drying a plant in your own plant press! She’ll also share ideas for crafting with your pressings at home. Doors open at 11:30am, with the first game starting at 12:10pm and the second game starting at 2:30pm. Snacks, drinks, and merch are available to purchase. Entry is by donation, which is always optional - and no one is ever turned away for lack of funds. Our league is entirely volunteer run, so any proceeds help us continue to play, train, and host games! We recommend bringing a camping chair if you have one, RCCC has some chairs available but quantities are limited. And if you’d like a trackside view of the action (best seats in the house!) please bring a pillow or yoga mat to sit on, as no chairs are allowed in this section for safety reasons. The upstairs bar at RCCC will also be open for this event, so you can grab a drink and watch from there too! Terminal City Roller Derby works hard to make sure all of our events are safe, fun, inclusive and family friendly. We love having families attend our events, and we do have measures in place to ensure safety; including specific viewing distances for those under 18. You can expect an event full of hard hits and bold athleticism, with a good dose of laughter and entertainment. The game will last for about 90 minutes including halftime and timeouts. The New Westminster Police Department is currently seeking volunteer coaches for its annual Kids Soccer School event at Queen's Park Stadium in New Westminster, BC, Canada. The event is scheduled to run from July 22nd to July 26th, from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm daily, catering to approximately 300 children aged five to ten years old. Youth coaches will work alongside a police officer to lead teams of kids throughout the week, emphasizing safety, teamwork, and an enjoyable soccer experience. To participate, volunteers must commit to all five days of the event, during which two t-shirts, drinks, and snacks will be provided. Please note that positions are dependent on passing a Police Background/Vulnerable Sector check.
