FAQs
How do I enter the show as a VIP?
You may enter the show when your timed entry begins, and you may re-enter throughout the day (until 4 PM). Go to the south entrance of the Thornhill Community Centre (7755 Bayview Ave) and check in with a team member. All VIP ticket holders are guaranteed entry at your time slot so you do not need to line up! You must have your ticket ready at the door (on paper or on your phone) so we can scan the QR code quickly to get you inside.
Children ages 12 and under do not require a VIP ticket to enter as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a VIP ticket. (However, if the child/children would like their own exclusive merch, each child will require a separate ticket).
Can I change the entry time on my purchased tickets?
No. We have allotted a specific amount of VIP tickets per time slot to abide by the venue’s capacity policy, and to ensure we are adhering to the fire codes from the City of Markham’s by-laws. We also have to be fair to the attendees that are guaranteed entry for their time slot, and we have to avoid overcrowding with the general admission line as well.
You may only enter at the start of your time slot or after, but NOT before.
Is it possible to line up for a swag bag if I’m a VIP?
Yes! If you’d like a swag bag, you must be one of the first 50 people (ages 10+) in our general admission line before 9:45 AM. Once you’ve been given a swag bag, you can go to the VIP entrance and wait for your entry time, or come back at your entry time.
I bought multiple VIP tickets, are they transferable?
As long as each individual has a ticket, each unique QR code can be scanned for entry (per person). There are no pass-backs and each ticket is one-time use.
Further Details:
- The Mini Sanrio Plush will be selected at random for each package
- Only VIP ticket holders have timed-entry. Add-ons are a separate purchase.
- Limited tickets are available per time slot to ensure a comfortable shopping experience
- VIP ticket holders must check in with a staff member at the entrance to scan your QR code
- Please bring your ticket with you, we will not have any access to your tickets and receipts!
- You must collect ALL of your purchases (both VIP items AND add-ons) by 4 PM on the event day. We will not be shipping or holding onto any unclaimed orders. Anything that has not been picked up will be donated to the volunteers.
- NO REFUNDS. ALL SALES ARE FINAL.

Hoops and Hearts for MJ - 2025 | Aaniin Community Centre
Jun 21, 2025 (UTC-4)
Markham
Hoops and Hearts for MJ
Come join us for a fun-filled day of basketball, learn about hearth health and all things MJ, at the
Aaniin Community Centre
. Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, this event is open to all. Players must be 16+ to participate. Let's come together to honor MJ's memory and spread love through the power of sports. See you there!
Blessed are the peeps that were loved, cared and fed by MJ (Mantej Singh Minhas); one of the kindest souls to ever grace this world. He was a passionate foodie, loving husband, son, brother, uncle, a devoted friend to many, and I’m sure he held several other titles. Our lives haven’t been the same since his sudden passing on May 4th, 2022, at the mere age of thirty one.
MJ was born to a humble Punjabi Sikh family in the diverse neighborhood of North York, Ontario. He was raised as a proud Canadian, with an abundance of love, kindness, empathy for all living things and a passion for the arts. From a very young age music was a means of communication for him, it was perhaps our love language as well. He was well known for his superior vocal skills, which were rooted in classical Indian music, and of course his animated rendition of DMX’s “
Where the hood at”….
My personal favorite was 50 Cent’s “
21 Questions”.
Maybe it was his love for basketball or the musical stylings of Mr. Jackson, but to all he was their MJ.
MJ led a healthy active lifestyle, he would play basketball for nearly three hours multiple times a week, while consuming a balanced diet, abstaining from alcohol and any kind of drugs. He would be considered the “ideal” Indian son-in-law for all the Indian mothers reading this. So it truly shocked our family when the autopsy revealed he passed due to
Atherosclerosis Heart Disease.
Our mission is to empower and educate the community about the risks associated with heart disease, encourage proactive measures for prevention and early intervention. Through culturally informed rhetoric and tailored initiative, impactful campaigns, sporting events, and meaningful collaborative partnerships, we strive to reduce the prevalence of heart disease and its associated disparities. We hope that every individual in the South Asian community will be equipped with the knowledge and resources to lead a heart-healthy life, creating a harmonious and resilient society where hearts beat stronger, and lives flourish.
All proceeds gathered by ticket sales will support yearly events run by Hoops and Hearts and be donated to related charitable initiatives, working to improve the treatment of heart disease.
