Workshop 5: Butterflies – Last year we did dragonflies, this summer we are doing butterflies! There will also be iridescent paint for this class as well. We are looking to paint realistic butterflies, not cartoon butterflies. These classes have workshop in the title because each class will be delving into learning specific techniques and “mini” because they are only 2-1/2 hours long. The beauty of this format is that you can pick and choose which specific classes that you want to take based on your own interests and schedule. No long-term commitment is required. However, it is highly recommended that you have some previous watercolor experience or have taken a beginning watercolor class before. (See Laurie’s Beginning Watercolor – the Basics.) NOTE: In this class, the intent is to end with at least one completed mini painting but with the understanding that individuals may work at different pace. So, you might not complete an entire painting but will have learned techniques that can be carried forward with future painting endeavors. Instructor: Laurie Adams ( www.loreleiarts.us ) Adults & Teens 13 and over – Minimum 2, maximum 8 Prerequisite: Some previous experience required. For beginning watercolor students who have taken a watercolor class before, existing watercolor artists whose techniques are rusty, or artists who want some continuing instruction or who want to learn new techniques. If you have no experience, I suggest you take a beginning watercolor class prior to this class as some of the techniques may be more difficult without some prior basic watercolor technique knowledge. Join Inclusive Lafayette to learn about recent housing proposals brought forward by local developers, with presentations from the developers themselves. We'll be visiting three developments. The tour will start at the Lafayette Hillside Memorial site, where architect and developer Lara Dutto will talk about her plans to build a small community on the parcel behind the site while preserving the memorial. Next, we'll walk to two sites under development by Brian Griggs and Jeff Stone, a seven-story proposal at 1001 Oak Hill Road and a nearly completed development at 950 Hough Street. At each site, participants will learn about the proposals and receive an opportunity to ask questions. We'll then conclude the tour by walking over to Headlands Brewing, where food and drinks will be available for purchase. Inclusive Lafayette is 100% run by volunteers--we're not even an incorporated nonprofit--so we appreciate the support of our community. Information Source: Inclusive Lafayette | eventbrite
