We will learn about one of the world’s most popular citizen science nature app, iNaturalist. Following a brief tutorial, we will travel along the trail and share our observations with other enthusiasts while also recording them for scientists! Participants are encouraged to download and install iNaturalist on their smartphone or tablet. A limited number of Tablets and Nature Backpacks will be available on-site for customers to checkout with their Vaughan Public Libraries card. All ages are welcome! There will also be nature-themed activities available for younger children. Children are required to have adult supervision. To ensure the comfort and enjoyment of the program for all participants we kindly ask that pets stay at home or explore the park independently. This program will take place outdoors (weather permitting), so wear comfortable shoes and appropriate outerwear. Don't forget to bring water! Learn from ESL learners as they take the lead and teach us their culinary traditions! Get to meet new people every month while practicing your English and your cooking/baking skills. You will be working together as a group to make the dish of the month. ESL learners or ESL Café volunteers will present each session. The topics will be released online as they become available. Registration is per session. Any children participating must register with an adult (please register a ticket for every individual, including the child and the adult). The room capacity is limited. All individuals planning to be inside the kitchen during the program must be registered as a participant. This includes any adult accompanying a child. Your puppy yoga class will be filled with stretches, cuddles, and kisses from some of the cutest puppies around. Puppy yoga classes provide a unique and enjoyable way to improve mental health. The presence of adorable puppies roaming from one yoga mat to the next, cuddling with participants, and playing with other puppies creates a calming atmosphere that helps to reduce stress and anxiety. Not only do puppy yoga classes help people relax, but they also offer many other benefits such as increased physical activity, improved socialization skills, and increased self-confidence.
