Duke Riley: O'er the Wide and Plastic SeaThis monumental exhibition surveys two decades of work by New England-born, Brooklyn-based artist Duke Riley who is known for innovative and intricate installations, performances, videos, sculptures, and drawings that call attention to the ways in which institutional power collides with the natural world. Open (C)all: Dear EarthWe invited artists of all ages from Hampton Roads to participate in Open (C)all 2025: Dear Earth by creating artworks inspired by their personal connection to nature. Spanning fiber art, sculpture, painting, and photography, Dear Earth showcases 115 unique pieces from our local community, each expressing a heartfelt message to our planet ARTlab This interactive space lets you explore the main themes and ideas of the current exhibition through hands-on making, sharing, and personal connections. Free admission for Virginia residents is generously funded by Sentara and The Sokol Family Foundation. Tickets are required for check-in purposes and allow for entry any time during open hours. Wicked Summer fun! - WHAT IF ELPHABA AND THE GRINCH WERE FRIENDS? Welcome to the Beach Party with Shag Lessons at Happy's Farm Inc. Get ready to groove to some beachy tunes and learn the classic shag dance! Join us for a fun-filled day of sun, sand, and shagging. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a beginner, everyone is welcome to come and dance the day away. So grab your flip-flops and sunscreen, and get ready to have a blast at our beach party! Tickets will include light hors d'oeuvres, soda/water, shag lessons, music and dancing. Please feel free to bring your preferred beveage of choice.
