Our late summer Walk & Talk will be on Friday 15th August! To keep our event and networking opportunities as varied as possible, we were keen to offer our members more creative ways of networking, so we teamed up with Gary Pratt to organise these networking sessions with groups of 12 people (similar to our members’ lunches) who are keen to don their walking boots and explore the stunning countryside around Bristol and Bath. A great opportunity for members to make some new connections within the industry whilst getting some much needed fresh air! The meeting point for this walk will be in Chew Magna, with the route taking in the beautiful Chew Valley Lake. Towards the end of the walk, we'll be stopping at a pub for anyone who fancies a drink or snack. Exact meeting point will be confirmed via email. During the walk, you’ll get to spend time chatting to each of your fellow walkers. No agenda as such, just clear open space for thinking, connecting, sharing experiences about your businesses and exploring possibilities. Community Farmer Days Spend a joyful day surrounded by nature and community as you volunteer on our working, organic farm, helping us grow veg and care for wildlife. Our Community Farmer Days are brilliant fun for all ages and we provide a shared lunch for everyone who comes. The Community Farm is a community-owned, social enterprise that wants to share the joys of food and farming with you! Our fields are in a beautiful setting, overlooking Chew Valley Lake. Adults and children are welcome, there’s loads to learn and no experience is necessary. Join us for a tour of Limeburn Hill Biodynamic Vineyard , located on the south facing slopes of Westfield Farm in the Chew Valley. The vineyard manager and winemaker will take you on a guided walk through the vines, demonstrating how they are managed in a natural and sustainable way, and explain how the biodynamic farming methods work in harmony with the natural world. The tour will culminate in a guided tasting of our wines where we will explain how we make wine naturally using nothing more than the juice and wild yeast from the grapes. There will also be a chance to ask questions of the makers and buy bottles to take home. No minimum age requirements, although alcohol will not be served to anyone under 18. What are my parking options for getting to and from the event? Parking will be available on the farm, signposted off Limeburn Hill on the right as you drive up the hill. Signs will direct you to the parking area. Taxis can drop off at the gate or drive in to turn around. Where / when should we meet for the event? We will meet in the parking area. Please aim to arrive a few minutes early. What should I bring to the event? Bring sturdy footwear as the vineyard is steep and uneven in places and may be muddy and wet underfoot, depending on the weather.
