Jill Sobule was a songwriter/guitarist/singer who performe dwith wit, self- assurance, subtle intelligence and a skillful light handedness which rolls into the incredible unique entertainer that she was. RADICAL HARMONIES- Radical Harmonies is a full-length documentary that chronicles the Women's Music Cultural Movement and its evolution from a "girl with guitar" to a revolution in the roles of women in music and culture. The movement gave birth to an alternative industry that changed women and music forever. Dr. Boden Sandstrom PhD will introduce the film and have a Q&A following Musician Erin McKeown and Comedian Karen Williams will bring much needed artistry in music, story telling, comic relief, support for the LGBTQ community and a fun hysterical evening! We are so grateful that Erin McKeown They/Their could join us this evening. Erin followed Jill Sobule and Jills style like no other and is a musician, writer, and producer known internationally for their prolific disregard of stylistic boundaries. Their brash and clever electric guitar playing is something to see. Their singing voice is truly unique —clear, cool, and collected. Over the last 20 years, they have performed around the world, released 11 full length albums, and written for film, television, and theater, all the while refining their distinctive and challenging mix of American musical forms. Karen Williams is known for her quick repartee, insightful commentary and audience rapport, Williams is a comic craftmaster, a gifted actor, a multitalented writer, and an inspirational lecturer. Summer Nights Soy Candle Making Workshop with Enlightened Coast Candles Come join us for a fun and creative workshop where you can learn how to make your very own soy candles during this mid-Summer event! Get ready to immerse yourself in the art of soy candle making and create personalized candles while you take a break from the heat and traffic out there! We love having an opportunity to meet people in the community and give everyone something unique and fun to do, so allowing you to make your own scented soy candle is a great way to do that! In this workshop, you will learn the advantages of using soy in making candles compared to most candles that contain paraffin. We do this in a laid back setting where you will get a chance to know your host and fellow participants, have some laughs, learn a few things, and have something great to take home with you. Select one of several dozen fragrances we will have on hand that suits your senses. You will have many container options for making your candle - in a 5 oz. glass container or a 6.2 oz colored tin container. AND If you'd like to add a little color to your candle, we will have plenty of options to choose there as well. Water and coffee are available for the duration of the event.
