Have you ever wanted to learn how to safely handle and use high explosives including C-4, Semtex, Emulsions, RDX, HMX, Comp-B, DetCord, Dynamite, ANFO, PETN, and binary liquid explosives? Now’s your chance. WCMG LLC has opened up their High Explosive Law Enforcement Training to the general public with no previous experience required. All attendees must be 18+ years old with a valid driver license, be able to pass a Federal Background Check, and be a US Citizen. The $20 background check fee is not included in the ticket price and must be paid seperately after your purchase your class ticket. We offer two types of classes: Introduction to High Explosives (HE) Class: This 8-hour class focuses on the hands-on use of different types of HE, different types of firing lines, different types of detonators, and the different types of initiators. This class is HANDS-ON and will instruct students on the safe handling and use of multiple types of High Explosives. For the first 30 minutes of the class, students will be instructed on the history of HE, types of HE, types of detonators, types of firings, proper handling procedures, blast records, and lastly storage requirements. The remaining 7+ hours will be direct hands-on use of HE, including arming the blast initiator, laying the main trunk line, placing the charge, arming the charge with detonators (aka blasting caps) and then the actual firing of multiple types of charges. All firings and setups will be done by students under the direct supervision of an experienced PA Certified Blaster. Class size is limited to 18 students to allow every attendee the chance to handle, set up, and detonate multiple firings. Drinks and lunch will be provided. Advanced Usage of High Explosives (HE) Class: This 8-hour class takes everything you learned in the Intro class and uses that knowledge in real-world applications. This class focuses on the hands-on use of multiple delayed firings, directional tree dropping, satchel charge, cutting charges, directional ground charges, shape charges, directional water charges, breaching a door using explosives, detonation of three Claymore mines daisy chained together with DetCord, and ending with a HE Grenade throw for the student that traveled the furthest to attend class. The Advance Class will have a refresher training for the first 30 minutes and then+ 7 hours of advanced training. Note: The intro Class is a prerequisite of the Advanced Usage class. Class size is limited to 18 students to allow every attendee the chance to handle, set up, and detonate multiple firings. Drinks and lunch will be provided. Class Rules: NO cell phones or cameras are permitted to be used during the Introduction class except during a few "shots". Weather Dependent: The safe use of High Explosives requires that there is limited lightning, therefor class may be cancelled if severe thunderstorms are forecasted within 24 hours of class. If the Saturday Introduction Class is cancelled, we will move the Intro Class to Sunday and cancel the Advanced Class. Students will receive 100% refund for their ticket for the cancelled class, however there are no reimbursements for travel, Eventbrite fees, or other expenses. Refunds (other than weather): To put it simply, there are none, with the exception for cancellation due to lightning. Nothing is amplified, pre-recorded or rehearsed. Each set and performance is sonically pure, unique and completely improvised. CD's and Crystals will be available for purchase at the shows. www.crystaljourney.ca For more info about the music. ____________________________________________ About The Instruments: Paiste Gongs: Planet Gongs are tuned to the natural harmonic series based on the orbital properties of the Earth, Moon, Sun, and Planets. All of these gongs resonate in harmony with the celestial bodies and communicate a distinct aspect of the Music of the Spheres, which was first documented by Pythagoras in the 6th Century BC. Each planet gong contributes a vital pitch to the total harmonic resonance of our solar system. Crystal Bowls: The bowls are made of 99.992% crushed quartz crystal that is heated to 4000 degrees in a centrifugal mold. The thickness of the bowl determines the note, digitally tuned to C D E F G A and B corresponding to the charkas, our energy centers; root (C), sacral (D), solar plexus (E), heart (F), throat (G), third eye (A), and crown (B) The diameter of the bowl determines the pitch, ranging from 6 inches to 22 inches. Persian Santoor: Persian Santoor consists of a trapeziform case made of walnut wood, approximately 90 cm wide at the broad end, 36 cm wide at the narrow end and 6 cm deep. The strings are fixed to hitch-pins along the left-hand side and wound round metal wrest-pins on the right by means of which they are tuned with a tuning-key (Tuning Wrench). Each quadruple set of strings rests on a movable bridge of hardwood (kharak). The bridges are placed so that the strings are divided into three sections, giving the fundamental note and two higher octaves. There are nine (or sometimes 10, 11 and 12) quadruple strings an either side so that, with 18 groups of strings, 27 different notes can be played. The bass strings are of brass or copper and the trebles of steel. Persian Santoor is played by striking the strings with two light hammers (mezrab) held in three fingers of each hand. The ends of the sticks are usually covered with cloth to soften their impact on the strings. Harmonica: The harmonica, also known as a French harp or mouth organ, is a free reed wind instrument used worldwide in many musical genres, notably in blues, American folk music, classical music, jazz, country, and rock and roll. There are many types of harmonica, including diatonic, chromatic, tremolo, octave, orchestral, and bass versions. A harmonica is played by using the mouth (lips and tongue) to direct air into or out of one or more holes along a mouthpiece. Behind each hole is a chamber containing at least one reed. A harmonica reed is a flat elongated spring typically made of brass, stainless steel, or bronze. Information Source: Crystal Journey, David Hickey | eventbrite
