Join Garden Guide Dana Kruser to explore the hidden world of plants and their fascinating adaptations and interactions with other organisms in their environment. As we visit different locations in the Gardens, we’ll see examples of many different types of interactions -- such as mutualism, commensalism, and parasitism -- and gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for the hidden wonders of the natural world. Newman Arboretum and why this diversity is so important to humans. Learn how these trees connect to our local flora and the global world of trees, and how they are being threatened by pests, pathogens, and changing climate. You will also gain insights into the importance of certain trees to various cultures. Walks will be held rain or shine; please dress appropriately for the weather.
