This is an open air performance in the grounds of the Old Rectory. Teas, coffees and cake will be available to purchase on the day. The performance will go ahead whatever the weather so please come prepared! Please bring your own seating & a picnic!
Mystery plays are dramatisations of biblical stories, which began life in the medieval period, and were often performed as cycles They were a major form of theater in medieval Europe. The stories depicted included those from the Old and New Testaments, from the Creation to the Last Judgment, including Adam and Eve, the murder of Abel, and the Crucifixion. In the Middle Ages this major form of theatre was performed for the masses rather than people of the Court, and performers were often clergymen and members of the church, or in later periods members of guilds and craftsmen.

, which told the story of a community of pacifists who came to Lincolnshire in World War 2, which went to the Edinburgh Fringe where it played to full houses and received excellent reviews. Their most recent production was a free adaptation of
Milton’s Paradise Lost
which toured Lincolnshire
including the The Old Rectory in the summer of 2023. They are touring their new show
Modern Mysteries
in the Summer of 2025 and we are extremely pleased to be welcoming them back to the Old Rectory.

Terms & Conditions Below:-
THE PITCHES
Car Exhibitors will normally be allocated a pitch of approx. 20ft. x 10ft. Owners of large vehicles are required to pre- warn the organisers before the event.
Car Clubs will be allocated a space based on multiples of the above 20ft x 10ft pitch plus a pitch for a gazebo. The Club Organisers must arrive early to Marshall their allocated space.
All exhibitors must show the coloured pre-booking pass in the windscreen or be visible to the Event Marshalls at the entrance to allow speedy identification and entry.
Exhibitors must not sell food or drink for consumption at the show.
ACCESS TO SHOWGROUND AND SHOW TIMES
Exhibitor vehicles are expected to be on display for the duration of the show. The Showground will be open to Exhibitors from 8am on the day of the Show.
Public entry is at 10.00am. Exhibitors are expected be in place by that time to reduce the movement of vehicles and any interaction/interference with the public and visitors.
All pitches must be left clean, tidy and completely cleared of all rubbish and debris.
VEHICLES
All vehicles must be in a roadworthy condition and correctly insured.
Prior written agreement of the organisers is required before any vehicle is brought by trailer to the event. Unless otherwise agreed the tow vehicle and trailer will need to be parked on the public car park.
Exhibitors must drive slowly, carefully and any directions given by the Marshals on site must be observed. Maximum speed on the Showground is limited to 5 mph. Exhibitors must accept that pedestrians have right of way at all times.
ELECTRICITY
The use of portable generators will be not permitted
GAS CYLINDERS
No portable gas cylinders are allowed.
BBQs
No BBQs are allowed.
SMOKING
A no-smoking policy must be adhered to in all marquees and other enclosed spaces.
ANIMALS
Dogs are allowed on to the Showground but must always be kept on a lead and owners must clean up after the dogs.
SECURITY
Although security services will operate throughout the Showground on17th August neither the Organiser nor the security Staff can take any responsibility for any theft, damage or vandalism or loss whatsoever that may occur.
Breach of any of these rules or behaviour likely in the opinion of the Organiser's Chief Steward to cause nuisance or disturbance or any fear or concern for visitors or others may lead to the Exhibitor having to leave the Show.
By attending the Show, the Exhibitor agrees that there will be no such breach of good behavioural standards.
NOTE -Exhibitors should not allow unaccompanied children to sit in their vehicles in case the action may be misinterpreted.
REFUNDS
Fees are to be regarded as a donation to those charities supported by the event and in the event of cancellation for any reason will not be returned.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Exhibitors are reminded that they are responsible for observance, by themselves and their passengers, of the Rules and Guidelines.
DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY AND RESPONSIBILITY OF EXHIBITORS
The Organisers will not be responsible for any article, plant, machinery or any object of any kind exhibited or sold on the Showground. The Exhibitor shall assume full responsibility therefore including liability for all claims arising out of the showing of their vehicle.
The Exhibitor shall indemnify the Organisers against all claims, damages or expenses whatsoever in any way arising from the presence of the Exhibitor or his vehicle on the Showground.
Save for death or personal injury caused by the Organisers, its servants or agents the Organisers will not be responsible for death, injury, disease or loss caused to any exhibitor or to his or her passenger.
Save as aforesaid, the exhibitor of anything of whatever nature will indemnify the Organiser for any damage, loss, injury or disease occasioned by the said exhibitor, his servants, agents or by the thing or by any such vehicle however such damage, loss, injury or disease shall be caused.
The Organiser shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from any error in the apportionment of space or for any encroachment by an Exhibitor on the space apportioned to another.
The Organiser, its servants or agents will not be in any way liable to persons whatsoever for any damage or loss, however caused to the property of such person or for any injury, fatal or otherwise to any such person while on the Showground or car parks or while entering or leaving the same.
Each Exhibitor shall be solely liable for any loss, injury or damage that may be done to or occasioned by or arising from any article or property exhibited or brought onto the Showground by him or for him and shall indemnify the Organiser (to the full extent as though they were a party to this contract) on account of, or in respect of such damage or injury which may be so caused. Exhibitors shall be liable for the behaviour and for any misconduct or negligence of themselves and their passengers, and the consequences thereof and the said liability and indemnity shall extend to the acts or omissions of such parties.
Acceptance of these Regulations and Conditions shall be a condition of entry or participation in the Show. Refusal of entry due to breach of these Terms and Conditions does not give rise to any liability to pay compensation to the Exhibitor.
